| The following dates are the deadlines for introduction and consideration of bills for the 2004 session as set forth in the Joint Rules of the Senate and the House of Representatives. |

| Monday, January 12 |
Legislature convenes at 2 p.m. |
| Monday, January 19 |
M.L. King Holiday--no session |
| Monday, January 26 |
Last day for individual legislators to request to have bills drafted. |
| Wednesday, February 4 |
Last day for Committee, except House Appropriations, Calendar and Printing, and Taxation, House and Senate Federal and State Affairs, Senate Ways and Means, or other select committee, when authorized, to request to have bills drafted. |
| Wednesday, February 11 |
Last day for introduction of individual bills. |
| Friday, February 13 |
Last day for introduction of Committee bills (except by exempt committees listed above). |
| Saturday, February 28 |
Last day to consider nonexempt bills in house of origin. |
| Saturday, March 27 |
Last day to consider bills in the second house (except for committees listed above). |
| Saturday, April 10 |
No bills considered after this date except bills vetoed by Governor, Omnibus Appropriations Act, and Omnibus Reconciliations Spending Limit Bill. |
| Veto Session - Approximately two and one-half weeks after last day of regular session. | |
