| The
Kansas Seed Industry Association (KSIA) is the state's professional
organization for seedsmen. KSIA is a pro-active organization,
working in the best interests of Kansas seedsmen. Membership
is open to those involved in all segments of the industry.
Since its origin in 1947, KSIA has built a proud record of
service to its members, the seed industry and to Kansas agriculture.
KSIA members include professional seed producers, conditioners,
distributors and suppliers from Kansas and the surrounding
states. The members range from farm seed dealers and growers
to representatives of national and international seed corporations
as well as research and development personnel. Both wholesale
and retail facets of the industry are encompassed in the membership.
An effective KSIA Legislative Committee serves the membership
when needed in Topeka, and our Director of Member Services
lobbies on behalf of seed industry interests. KSIA cooperates
with industry and University programs to develop and disseminate
up-to-date information regarding new varieties, seed technology,
production techniques and sales information. Through its membership
with ASTA and the Western Seedsmen's Association, KSIA has
a direct line to the programs and activities of both organizations.
The KSIA has semi-annual conventions and provides a quarterly
newsletter, a membership directory, health insurance programs,
membership plaques, and opportunities to serve the seed industry,
the public and yourself.
